Can Benjamin Netanyahu survive the corruption investigations swirling around him?
Benjamin Netanyahu has been Israel’s prime minister for 11 years and
is on course to become the Jewish state’s longest-serving leader.
The 67-year-old is a former special forces commando and he appeals to
many Israelis as a strong man who can keep Israel safe in a turbulent
Middle East.
He is the head of the conservative Likud party he leads a coalition government made of up several parties from the Right.
But Mr Netanyahu’s political career is now under threat from a series of corruption investigations that have rocked his premiership.
He is fighting back, saying the investigations are a politically
motivated witch hunt being carried out by the Israeli media and his
opponents on the Left.
