EU negotiator warns of possible delays to Brexit talks
Talks between London and
Brussels on their future relationship are not likely to start in October
due to lack of progress on key divorce issue, the top EU negotiator has
said.
Michel Barnier briefed ambassadors from the EU27 -
the countries that will remain in the bloc after Britain leaves in March
2019 - on a round of divorce talks with London this month.
"He
said the likelihood of starting the future relationship talks in October
appeared to be decreasing," one EU official involved in the talks told
the Reuters news agency.
